Itaboraí to invest in Taekwondo

The Itaboraí Sports and Leisure Secretary, Mr. Sergio Gil presented to the International Trainer Cesar Valentim, to the coach Diego Ribeiro and to the Itaboraíense athlete, member of the Brazilian squad, Iris Tang Sing, the facilities in the city that are available for the training of high-perfornance Taekwondo.

Itaboraí is a city in the Rio de Janeiro State, where COMPERJ - Petrochemical Complex of Rio de Janeiro, is located. This complex is a venture of Petrobras on the supply area, it represents an investment of 8.4 billion U.S. dollars, which sets as the largest single venture of Petrobras and one of the world's largest of the industry. This venture will become the heart of a large industrial park that will profoundly transform the industrial profile, economic and environmental of the region.

The Municipal Secretary Sergio Gil showed interest in supporting today's Taekwondo in the city, investing in the Training Project for the Athlete Iris Tang Sing and her coach Diego Ribeiro, by allocating financial and material resources for an international training program in partnership with the Master Cesar Valentim, as well as supporting a development program for the introduction of Taekwondo in the local youth, equipping existing facilities in the city with training gear and apparel, targeting an initial group of 70 children.
