Poomsae World Championships is growing

The 2012 Poomsae Taekwondo World Championships wrapped up in great success. Over 50 countries and more than 500 participants headed to Tunja, Colombia, to participate in the 7th edition of the World Championships for Poomsae. Several new countries participated for the first time in this competition and others took the bigger delegations ever.

This year we had Free-Style Poomsae competition consolidating as the big winner, several countries participated with amazing performances and from North-America to South-East Asia, the acrobatic presentations delighted the crowd and all the other participants.

The World Taekwondo Federation decided to increase the number of categories for Poomsae. The previous known Under 17 Age Division will now be designated as "Juniors" and the team & pair categories Under 29 will be divided into Juniors (14-17) and Under 29 (18-29).

WTF also approved the bid from Indonesia to host the 2013 Poomsae World Championships that will take place in Bali next December, together with the 1st World Cadet Championships. Other competition formats like the Grand Prix will be implemented in 2013.
